I thought the SE only had 2 in the playoffs, Carolina and Washington? Those two were also the only 2 SE teams with a + .500 record.

Who's arguing? I was merely making a point that keeping stats like a " SE Bump " is a little much. No argument. I believe everyone should be able to voice their opinion without being ridiculed. I also believe in healthy debate. You, on the other hand, obviously don't harbor the same beliefs. If admitting I am wrong will make someone feel better, then forgive me, I was wrong. Happy? Now you win.

"I’m sure this is what Lord Stanley of Preston would have wanted when he awarded the 1st trophy."

Haha, what the Christ is that?

Obviously the thing Lord Stanley would be pissed off about is people arguing on the internet! That's completely against the spirit of the cup he presented as an amateur challenge trophy!

What? It's competed for by professionals and it's not on a challenge basis?!? Well fuck it, I bet he's still more pissed off at r-lam.

I’m confused. Who got their feelings hurt? Bubba trying to defend a team he blogs about, or the "objective" blogger who writes something and a reply to defend the original post...seems to me it’s the one who keeps writing and spitting stats. Oh and btw, staals much bigger SE bump is an unbelievable .014 PPG more than the, again argued about, comparables. .014, yeah there is a zero after the decimal, and since it seems you are having a hard time with math, that’s 14 points every 100 games. That’s really not a considerable difference. Quit being ridiculous, and if you want to complain, b/c it really came off that way and you know it, about someone trying rebuke your article, don’t make it so whiny.

Too.......many........stats....... Not enough evidence to me. Once again, how bad can the SE be, We currently have 3 teams in the playoffs. And how bored must you be to do the math on the " SE Bump "? I'm sure this is what Lord Stanley of Preston would have wanted when he awarded the 1st trophy. I agree that Staal hasn't been very inconsistent this year, but he has produced alot more than some other players. We're winning. Who gives a F about who gets more of an advantage because they play in a " weak " division? Doesn't it all come back to winning? What have you done for me lately, I believe applies in this instance.

Why don't you go outside and slap each other about it!?

I do agree though, living in Whale country, I still have a handful of friends who are Canes fans, and pretty much every one would agree that Staal's been brutally inconsistant, which has led to them being frustrated with him all year.

Also, I'm willing to bet the point about points against a division, like the SE and Staal, might carry the opposite effect for Gomez. I might do it if I have some free time at work tomorrow, but I bet there's a bump for out of division games for Gomez, which means what I would expect it to mean, the Atlantic is kinda tough (save for the Islanders).
