Good night: Help Kipper out a little, guys

    The Lead

Okay you’re just gonna want to watch that over and over and over again.

Now keep in mind that his team didn’t win this game for him. Calgary lost 4-3 in a shootout.

My life is the worst. This picture is not dissimilar to what I feel like right now.

    Elsewhere…

    Boston 5, Carolina 1

Game was pretty close for a while, but then the Bruins pumped in three goals in less than three minutes, two of which were shorthanded. Tim Thomas was awesome, making 31 saves to help the Bruins get back on track after their recent little skid where they played like garbage and dropped tons of points to beatable opponents. Speaking of which…

    Florida 4, New Jersey 0

I understand the Panthers are a surprisingly good team (and I got a helpful reminder e-mail the other day from a Panthers fan who felt it necessary to mock me out for picking them to finish like 13th in the East this year.. but wouldn’t you have?), but they shouldn’t beat the Devils this badly. The Devs were playing their asses off up until this game, but Scott Clemmensen became rather Old Scott Clemmensen-y and gave up four goals on 28 shots. Can’t get Marty back soon enough, eh? Tomas Vokoun, meanwhile, made 36 stops.

    Buffalo 4, Toronto 1

I can’t be bothered to care about this game. Not even a little. From the look of things, the Leafs felt the same way.

    Chicago 5, Tampa Bay 3

The Bolts give up three third-period goals, a Stamkos hat trick goes to waste. Some season they’re having down there.

    Colorado 3, Ottawa 2 (OT)

And that nice little run the Senators were on ends. Against the Avalanche. Wojtek Wolski scored the overtime gamewinner. Jason Spezza continues his fine season with a minus-2. This must have been a thrilling game.

    San Jose 4, Edmonton 2

The Sharks don’t deserve this win. Here’s why: The game’s first goal was scored by Zach Stortini. Really. The Zach Stortini. He’s so mind-bogglingly bad that his goals should count for at least triple. And thus Edmonton forces overtime. Anything can happen there, man.

I’m tellin ya, the Rangers and Flames aren’t that far apart in terms of fan misery, for all the same reasons!

That Leafs game was Pogge’s first home game. He is a terrible horrible no good very bad goaltender. Seriously. And as for the Panthers, they’re an interesting team. They really aren’t skilled at all, with goaltending, J-Bo, and Booth being the exceptions. But they aren’t terrible, and they work their asses off. I have never seen a team play so hard as them. If only the Flames could put out the same amount of effort.
