ETwig,

Now THAT I can agree too. The Rangers need any sort of help in a big way. The only way to describe them is lifeless...

But Shanahan was too slow. And Jagr ruined the powerplay, right? And Avery was too crazy. Well Avery may be crazy, but at least he showed a frickin' pulse, something this team needs a whole lot more of. I'm on board for the Jagr kidnapping...

I didn't mean to react harshly re: Prucha... it's just when you watch a pathetically boring team who reacts to nothing, void of personality, Prucha was just so, so refreshing last night. Prucha CARES. He may not be the best, but he TRIES. It felt so good to see someone TRY. That may sound stupid, but someone else try watching three straight months of Tom Renney hockey, and get back to me. You'd kill to see 18 Prucha's out there a night.

"We all float down here"

And by down here, pennywise was referring to MSG's lifeless undead horde of a team this year. For god's sake, do something, kidnap Jagr out of russia, get shanny out of the old folks home, bribe avery to come back with a lifetime supply of big red shoes and a new rainbow wig, but do something!

Prucha FLOATS?

Prucha does a lot of things... and some things not all that well (see backchecking). But Petr Prucha does not FLOAT. Prucha works his ass off every single game, which is why Ranger fans have been crying for weeks to get him back in the game. That's why the whole sold out crowd at Madison Square Garden chanted "Pet-r Pru-cha" last night. Not because of his goal, but because of his willingness to finish his checks, to force turnovers, and to draw penalities.

And he'd go back to being a thirty goal scorer, IMO, if he got the ice time and the power play time he once had. Hasn't had power play time since two seasons ago, when he got 22 goals.

Say what you want about him. He's small. He gets nailed once a game. He's poor defensively.
