Forgot to mention this the other day.

I never heard of Gerbe and only saw him play a few games in last year’s NCAA playoffs and was immediately like WHO is THIS #9 GUY?!! Incredibly dynamic, very exciting player.

I’m wondering what a little guy has to do to get a chance in the NHL. The kid is tearing the AHL a new asshole at the moment and the Sabres still haven’t called him up.

When will the NHL GMs’ obsession with barely adequate closets on skates end? Gerbe is every bit as good as Martin St.Louis or Theo Fleury. Give the kid a chance already!

BTW, the only thing you wrote with which I vehemently disagree is a poke at Tampa’s goalies. Mike Smith is the only reason they’re not in last place right now. He’s been spectacular.

P.S. Oh, and thanks for spoiling the last Liverpool game. Unfortunately, I’m the only guy other than you on here who cares and am way behind on my recorded Liverpool games. This was the last place I thought I’d get one of them spoiled. I’ve devised an elaborate ploy to avoid finding out the results prior to watching them and you have just partially defeated my plan.

I actually followed the link to that HFBoards post. I’m pretty sure the trade proposal was a joke (at least I hope so), but its value was in proving once again that Flyers fans are dumber than a dull pencil. From a Mike Richards lover:

“Blasphemy. You could swap out Backstrom for Ovechkin and I’d still be against this deal”.

Honestly I was very surprised that Tampa was 14th in team defense since they average 35.4 shots against per game which earns them dead last in the league. I guess that’s a testament to how well Mike Smith is playing this year.
