		<description>I don't know why the font is "vaguely Japanese" (whatever that means) but it's just a continuation of the font used in the shield logo (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d9/LosAngelesKingsAlternate.png).

And the logo looks pretty simple to me. It's just the name of the city (abbr.) and the primary logo combined into one logo. I don't know why its in the shape of an upside down house or a short pencil, but it is.

I would have probably have done something like this:
